Merry HO HO GO!
OMG… Christmas season has definitely hit the area…
Rude drivers, congested parking lots, insane traffic, and last minute shopping husbands… yes, I went shopping yesterday.
I knew it was gonna be bad, but I had no idea just HOW bad…
I talked to Rod about having the concrete contractor cut a control joint in the junction of the hallway and tracking room. I talked to Josh at Audiolot about my gear being shipped and a coupla of other odds and ends. So, I got out and started “shopping” for the Mrs’ Christmas gift.
I was looking for a very specific item. I only had 3 places to go to look for it in the area. Fortunately, the first one was close to Lowe’s. So I went to Lowe’s and they cheerfully refunded the extra ceiling tile we over estimated on. WOO HOO! But the bad news was that the store didn’t have the present I sought.
I ended up going to the new local super strip mall. I have no idea who the traffic engineering firm was that designed the parking, but I’d LOVE to find the idiot in a dark alley. I got in the shopping center without much distress, but after that… O M G. It took almost an hour to get out of there!
I finally got back to Lowe’s to pick up 13 sheets of 5/8″ Fire Rated gypsum and some pressure treated lumber for sill and bottom plates for walls. THAT parking lot was almost as bad as the shopping center an hour and a half earlier.
I made it home… THANK GOD!
I left here at 9:30AM and didn’t make it back until 4:45PM. Any other time, I could have done all my shopping and been back here BEFORE noon. I burned every bit of daylight I had… I just hope “the boss” is happy with what I got. If not… I’m gonna shoot myself.
Needless to say, I didn’t get a single thing done yesterday.
I’ve got to get tracking gear ready for a remote session tonight at Liberty Showcase. Once I get that done, I’m gonna get some work done on the big opening. I want to get that framed in so I can get the doors taken down and the exterior done.
I don’t know that I can do it, but I’m going to try to order all the door hardware for the doors on Monday. I’ve really gotten caught off guard. I should have ordered the stuff WEEKS ago. I guess it’s just now sinking in that this studio is ACTUALLY gonna get built!
