16 Tons and whaddaya’ get?

A sore back and Ooof… I’m beat…

Here’s what I started with this morning…

Lounge08 Lounge09

Here’s where I ended…

Lounge09 Lounge10

Lounge11

I started out by backfilling the footings with almost 10 tons of 6/7 cravel… then finishing off with Crush-n-Run gravel. What’s really sad is that while I have enough of the 6/7 to finish off the footers;

6/7 gravel

We completely ran out of the ABC/Crush-n-Run! I think we need another 16 tons to be safe. There’s a few other odds and ends I’m gonna need extra gravel for, so it ain’t like it’s gonna go to waste…

The rain did leave things pretty wet. The tractor chewed the ground pretty good, but since it’s all gotta be landscaped anyway…

At any rate, here are the pix I promised of the sand and expansion joints, etc…

These are all view looking from the tracking room towards the control room

This is the view from the isolation booth looking at the control room

The first pick is pretty much the view from the “sweet spot”… the other is from the corner of the control room looking at the other corner of the studio.

“SIXTEEN TONS”
By Merle Travis

Some people say a man is made out of mud

A poor man’s made out of muscle and blood

Muscle and blood, skin and bones…

A mind that’s weak and a back that’s strong

[…] Max’s studio is looking good from ground level. (dmstudio) […]

John,

Thanx for the “encouragement”… “A mind that’s weak and a back that’s strong”… HA! The weak mind, sure! But the back sometimes feels like it’s broke!

Me and pain reliever’s are getting to be GREAT friends… Don’t wanna plug companies, but just plain aspirin is about as effective as anything else.
