The Details are a Devil of a Time
Just a quick update on the goings on an’ happenings…
Things are S L O W L Y still coming together.
I’m still working on getting all the external rack gear wired up. I seem to have an issue where the 2nd converter doesn’t want to hold it’s configuration changes. It’s rather irritating to have to constantly go back and reset the I/O configuration to get all the converter points working, each time I need to test inserts and send/returns. I’m sure it’s me, but unfortunately, I also need to keep moving on getting the rest of the final trim done. So, I end up splitting my time between those two things and getting some mix time on the Icon.
I’ve managed to get two wall panels buttoned up; the Iso Booth and the panel next to it. I was hoping to do all the panel trim at once, but with rain coming tomorrow, I think I better get the two panels done today. At least they’ll be completely done and off my list.
I did take the time to get the 1st coat of Danish Oil on the walnut trim in the Tracking Room. I must say, it really does make that walnut pop out against the oak. I can’t say it’s as pretty as the oak trim against the cherry in the control room, but it’s right handsome! I WILL get pix today… now whether I get em’ posted is another story…
I’m going to try to get the caulking and painting done in the lounge Saturday and Sunday evenings after the tracking sessions.
Once all the rack gear is in place, I’m gonna have a hard time getting the SBIR panels built to start testing and room tuning… I took the table saw apart to get it out of the studio.. *&^#%#*!!!!
Maybe I have some 2″ or 4″ wide stock in the woodshop that I can use to build frames with… Maybe I better check that out this morning. The SBIR panels are gonna be critical to get up ASAP.
I also need to get a 4″ panel put up on the inside of the door of the iso booth. I’ve got plenty of material, but the cedar needs to be milled to size… again, I need that table saw working… *&^#%#*!!!!
I’m planning on going shopping for small-ish area rugs for the lounge and hall today. Actually, TheBossĀ© said that she wants me to schedule the time today to do that… so I guess that means I better do that, huh?
As if I got nuttin’ else going on, I’ve started a blog over at Recording.Org about the actual starting and running of a studio business.
Pix and updates later!
